Abstract

In this paper, an experimental study on the reaction kinetics of the CO2 splitting by ceria was operated using sheet-ceria materials. Comparing the experimental results with different gas-solid models, the homogeneous F1.5 model was selected as the best model that could describe the CO2 splitting by ceria at high temperature. The model selection method was validated using the Hancock and Sharp model-free method, and finally the reaction kinetic constants of the reaction process were obtained, providing guidance for the utilization of ceria in the solar thermochemical cycle.
