IMPERFECT PREVENTIVE REPLACEMENT MAINTENANCE MODEL UNDER RELIABILITY CONSTRAINTS

Abstract

Aiming at insufficient using the remaining life of the equipment used insufficiently in repairable systems due to unreasonable maintenance and replacement plans, on the basis of comprehensive consideration of dynamic maintenance costs and reliability, an incomplete preventive replacement maintenance method under reliability constraints is proposed. A non-equal cycle imperfect preventive maintenance (PM) model based on mixed failure rate is developed as well. Furthermore, the calculation formula of the equipment replacement maintenance period is given on basis of the constraint of reliability, while the optimal replacement threshold is raised by enumeration method. Moreover, with the minimum average maintenance cost as the goal, the optimal number of PM, PM period and replacement cycle are provided. In addition, taking the generator of a wind turbine as an example, the model is compared with PM model without reliability constraints and the model without replacement threshold. The results indicate that proposed methodology effectively reduces maintenance costs and guarantees the reliable operation of the equipment.
