Abstract

In this paper, a series of numerical studies on the bearing capacity of the tripod jacket foundation in sandy soil and silty clay are conducted. The combination of sandy soil and silty clay with different thicknesses is selected, and the general finite element program ABAQUS is used to analyze the bearing capacity of the foundation, the failure characteristics of the foundation and the soil pressure on the side of the cylinder under the horizontal load with different soil combinations. The calculation results show that with the thickness of the silty soil increasing, the horizontal bearing capacity of the tripod suction jacket foundation is regularly increased. The structural bearing capacity shows the greatest growth when the thickness of the attached silty soil is 3-6 m, which can provide suggestions and references for the site selection of the tripod jacket foundation in the actual project.
