Abstract

A micro fluidized bed reaction analyzer was used to analyze the co-pyrolysis characteristics of oil shale and cotton stalk. The releasing characteristics of H2, CH4, CO and CO2 were investigated under different temperatures and mixing ratios. The kinetic parameters were calculated using the iso-conversion rate method to study the interactions during co-pyrolysis. As a result, a significant difference can be found in the individual pyrolysis characteristics of oil shale and cotton stalk, while the addition of cotton stalk can accelerate the conversion rate of the reaction and increase the gas generation rate during isothermal co-pyrolysis. The activation energy of gas generation was calculated by the Friedman-Reich-Levi method, and the results showed that the activation energy of co-pyrolysis was significantly lower than the theoretical value, indicating that co-pyrolysis could improve the thermolytic reactivity of raw material and promote the gas generation.
